Everyone in the house is coming down with a cold or something. So far I am ok, thank God! Hubby is home sick, so everyone has been camping out in the living room glued to the T.V unfortunately!
We did manage to get some school work done and do some fun activities :) I had my eye on this cake to do, but we are still eating our cake from St. George’s Day. So, I looked in the pantry to see what I could come up with for lunch. I shocked myself with an original idea! But, I admit I was Inspired a bit by Jessica’s day and a post by Mary on Catholic Cuisine.
We started the day with our regular school day lessons and chaos routine. We read today’s Gospel reading- and focused on Mark 16:15-20
We talked about what we read about this feast day and how much we learned!
I didn’t know that the Gospel of Mark was written mostly for the Roman Gentile converts, that is why in his Gospel he is careful to explain Jewish customs, rites and words. The Evangelist Mark is represented as a lion because he begins his Gospel in the wilderness, “The voice of one crying in the desert: Make ready the way of the Lord,’ or because he presents the Lord as the unconquered King.”
Our lunch was PB&S (peanut butter and syrup instead of jelly) My nanny gave this to us in our school lunches when we were sick of PB&J’s. They are very yummy! You just add a bit of syrup to the peanut butter to make it creamier and easier to spread.
I looked at what we had and thought…hhmmm this could work! I used a cookie cutter to make the shape after I made the sandwich. I spread the peanut butter mixture on, some in the middle of the bread and some on top also. Then the goldfish, pretzels, granola, chocolate chips and twizzlers. It turned out sooo cute! I couldn’t get a great pic of it though, my camera battery was dying and had to snap quick! They were actually very yummy for such a strange combination!

After lunch builder drew a pic of this symbol. We haven’t been able to use our printer forever a while now, so we are limited as to what we can draw or color. He can copy from sight pretty good I think. He loves to draw! Here is is
